It is an true honor to lead the 580 dedicated women and men who work together to serve and protect the people of Oneida County as Deputies, Correction Officers, Special Patrol Officers, and 
civilian staff members. As I enter my third term as Your Sheriff, I am proud to see how far the Sheriff’s Office has come and I look forward to seeing all that that the future holds for us. As the Chief Law Enforcement Officer of the county, I am responsible for the safety of people, service to the courts, and preservation of property within the County of Oneida. The Office of Sheriff is one of just three constitutionally mandated officials elected by the citizens of the county and I am responsible for, and accountable directly to, the 235,000 citizens of the county that live in our 3 cities, 26 Towns, and 17 Villages. I am supported and assisted by Undersheriff Joseph Lisi, who has statutory authority to conduct all business within the purview of the Office of Sheriff.
I would like to stress how proud I am to serve as your Sheriff. We will never waiver in our obligation to do everything within our power to ensure your safety, but we cannot do it alone. No agency, or one person for that matter, ever achieved much without the contribution of others. With that being said, I would like to thank our law enforcement partners, County Executive Anthony J. Picente, and the Board of Legislators for their continuous support of the Office of Sheriff as we serve the people of Oneida County.
